How long will my furnace last before it needs to be replaced?

The average furnace will last between 15 and 20 years with proper maintenance. This number may vary depending on furnace type, usage, and other factors.

How often does my furnace need maintenance?

We recommend scheduling maintenance annually to maintain the lifespan and efficiency of your furnace. Hoffman Heating offers maintenance plans to help you remember to schedule each year.

How often should I replace my furnace filter?

We recommend replacing your filter every one to three months, or as recommended by the filter manufacturer. If you have pets or have people in the home with respiratory concerns, replace your filter more frequently for better indoor air quality.

What size furnace do I need for my home?

The right size furnace for your needs depends on the size and layout of your home. Call Hoffman Heating for a personalized recommendation.

What is home zoning?

Zoning allows you to regulate the temperature in specific “zones” in your home. Dampers are placed in your ductwork to control the airflow to specific rooms. Each zone also has its own thermostat, which provides precise control in each area.

What should I do if my heat won’t turn on?

We have a few troubleshooting tips for you to try. Check your circuit breaker to ensure your furnace is receiving power. Make sure your air filter isn’t overly clogged or dirty. Verify that your thermostat is turned on. If none of these are the issue, please give us a call for service.
